About Mrs. Peterson
Mrs. Peterson received her Bachelor's Degree in Mathmatics at Biola University. Upon graduation she discovered that there were too many teachers at the time, and a counselor advised her to pursue a computer career. She enjoyed computer programming, and worked for Southern California Edison's computer department for seven years.
Mrs. Peterson met her husband Ed while she was at Biola and they have been married for 36 years. They have been members of Bethany Bible Fellowship for over 20
years. Mr. Peterson became a computer programmer after seeing Mrs. Peterson's success in such an open field. When they started their family, Mrs. Peterson wanted to be home with her children and
decided to leave her position with SCE.
While staying at home to raise her four children, she realized that she still had the desire in her heart that God gave her to be a teacher. God led her and
her husband to home educate their children. They taught their children from grades pre-K through high school spanning over 21 years. While
homeschooling her own children, she also tutored other people's children in mathematics.
Several years ago, Mrs. Peterson began volunteering her time as a substitute teacher for Bethany Christian Academy. She discovered she really enjoyed being in
the classroom. Teaching God's truths, weaving various subjects together from a Christian viewpoint, has been her passion in all areas of her teaching experience over the years.
This will be Mrs. Peterson's sixth year as a teacher at BCA. Mrs. Peterson enjoys the small class sizes and the way our Christian teachers and staff support one
another at BCA. She loves the parent support, and not to mention the best students around!
